Location: Fairmount Park

Cost: Registration fee – $40

Stroll around the lake with your pet at the 30th Annual Walk with the Animals, a fundraising event for the Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center. In addition to the walk, there’ll be a pancake breakfast (lots of pancakes this weekend), Pop-Up Dog Park, pet contests, vendors, a kid’s zone, and a beer garden where you can wash down the pancakes.

Registered walkers will receive a commemorative t-shirt, a bandanna for their pet, and a ticket to the pancake breakfast (again with the pancakes).

Riverside Insect Fair

Time: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Location: Main Library, 3900 Mission Inn Avenue

Cost: Free

It’ll be bugs ahoy at the Riverside Insect Fair this Saturday at the Riverside Main Library. Hear bug stories, watch a chef cook with bugs, learn how to create your own bug collection, and visit with real live Entomology students from UC Riverside. Entomophiles will be in heaven; entomophobes – you’ve been warned.

12th Annual Wood Streets Yard Sale

Time: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Location: Wood Streets Neighborhood

Cost: Free

Hundreds of Wood Streets neighborhood residents will participate in the 12th Annual Wood Streets Yard Sale on Saturday. Organizers recommend bringing a cart to haul away your treasures and wearing comfortable shoes – there’s lots of ground to cover. (A bottle of water wouldn’t hurt.) Be prepared for plenty of traffic and limited parking in the neighborhood’s narrow streets. White and red signs at intersections will point the way. For questions, please call or text Rosemary at 951-313-2823.

Sunday, May 1
