Raincross Weekend: June 18-19

This weekend is packed with events celebrating Juneteenth and the opening of The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture, plus a Fathers' Day Nerf War.

Saturday, June 18

The Cheech Opening Day Celebration

Time: 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
Location: The Cheech Center for Chicano Art & Culture
Cost: Free

Everyone is invited to celebrate the opening of the brand-new Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture with a day full of art, dance, music and food. Admission into The Cheech on opening day is sold out and limited to ticketholders only. Learn more about the celebration here.

Collidoscope: de la Torre Brothers Retro-Perspective

Time: 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Location: The Cheech Center

The Collidoscope: de la Torre Brothers Retro-Perspective, a temporary exhibition making clear why the de la Torre Brothers are the first artists to be featured at The Cheech. This exhibition will run from June 18, 2022–January 22, 2023. Second Annual Juneteenth Celebration

Time: 1:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m.
Location: White Park
Cost: Free

The Black Collective and Iota Phi Theta Beta Zeta Omega Chapter have come together to host their second annual Juneteenth event, with a foodie area, Kids’ Zone, and speeches by notable African Americans. For tickets and more information, click here.

Juneteenth Celebration

Time: 11:00 a.m.
Location: First Baptist Church of Glen Valley
Cost: Free

Celebrate Juneteenth with food and drinks, games and crafts at this multi-generational family church. More information can be found here.

Mt. Rubidoux Market Night

Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: Mt. Rubidoux Seventh-day Adventist Church
Cost: Free to attend

Come celebrate Juneteenth with the kick-off of a monthly Market Night at the church on Victoria Avenue in Riverside. Live music, food, and vendors from all over the Inland Empire. More information can be found here.

L.U.N.C Fathers’ Day Nerf War

Time: 10:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Location: Hunter Hobby park
Cost: Free

Shoot darts at your father to show your love and appreciation. The Lazy Uncles Nerf Club is hosting a Fathers’ Day Nerf battle that will consist of a variety of minigames for all ages. Note: Eye protection is mandatory. Visit their website for information about rules, game times, and more.

It’s a Scavenger Hunt!
