Raincross Weekend: September 29 – October 2

With the 91 Eastbound closure this weekend, you’ll probably want to stick close to Riverside. Thankfully there are plenty of great opportunities to learn more about the history and landmarks of our amazing city with Explore Riverside Together, a historical book fair, and more!

Riverside College and Career Fair

Time: 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Location: Galleria at Tyler, 1299 Galleria at Tyler
Cost: Free

High school students grades 9-12 are welcome to attend and bring their friends and families. Students will have the chance to attend live in-person workshops, take advantage of educational and career resources, and speak to over 180 college and career representatives.

Dreamscape, written and directed by Rickerby Hinds

Time: 8:00 p.m.
Location: The Box at the Fox Entertainment Plaza

Even two-plus decades after the police shooting of Tyisha Miller in Riverside, there are lessons to be had. Join us on Friday, September 30, for Dreamscape, a hip-hop play based on her story. Tyisha Miller’s death in 1998 sparked civil rights protests and triggered police reforms to root out racism. The performance includes a welcome from Riverside Mayor Patricia Lock-Dawson and a post-performance discussion by local leaders, including the playwright, Rickerby Hinds, a UCR theater professor.

National Drive Electric Week 

Time: 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Location: UC Riverside Lot 30, 900 University Avenue

This free public event will feature electric vehicle test-drives and rides with a dozen models, booths and demonstrations illuminating a range of environmental choices, and the chance to learn about EVs from long-time owners without sales pressure.

Tombstone Cinema Presents – “Rocky Horror Picture Show”

First Sundays Riverside

First Sundays is a seasonal series of free family programs featuring different activities for children and teens at six different locations in downtown: Riverside Metropolitan Museum, Mission Inn Museum, Riverside Art Museum, Riverside Public Library, UCR ArtsBlock and the Center for Social Justice and Civil Liberties! (Please contact each participating location for programming/participation/rules of entry.) The program is made possible through the collaborative efforts of all locations involved, as well as the sponsorship of the Riverside Arts Council.

Riverside Historical Society – Book Fair
