The Shadow Realm
A prompt to encourage your practice of creativity this week from Riversider and local author Larry Burns.
A "waterwise landscape makeover," valued at $15,000, will be the grand prize of Keep Riverside Clean and Beautiful's annual raffle, with proceeds funding various beautification projects across the city.
With the return of their annual raffle, Keep Riverside Clean and Beautiful (KRCB) is setting up to award one fortunate homeowner in Riverside with a “waterwise landscape makeover,” valued at $15,000. The raffle draw is scheduled for August 1st, hosted at the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce.
Last year’s winner, Sharon Gutierrez, expressed her joy at receiving the landscape makeover, stating, “Oh my gosh, I am in my front yard every single day without exaggeration. It has become the best part of the entire house!”
Raffle tickets cost $20 each, but bundled discounts are also available: five for $50, 10 for $75, and 15 for $100. Riverside homeowners interested in participating can purchase raffle tickets online, at the Chamber of Commerce, or from Louie’s Nursery.
Revenue generated from the raffle is channeled directly into city beautification projects, supplying the required tools and provisions to volunteers engaged in cleanup events coordinated by KRCB.
The grand prize comprises a professional team of designers and project managers from reputable names such as Earthworks Soil Amendments, Envision Landscape, Western Municipal Water District, Ken Crowl, and Athens Services.
Known for its extensive involvement in graffiti removal, cleaning city waterways, trails, streets, and alleys, and enhancing the city’s green spaces, KRCB is a volunteer program sponsored by the Riverside Public Works Department and the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce.
Those interested in contributing to their community and accumulating service hours can contact KRCB at 951-683-7100, ext. 204, or visit krcb.com.
Potential winners need not be present at the drawing; owning a home in Riverside is the only requisite for eligibility.
