City Council Dismisses City Attorney Phaedra Norton Without Cause
Five council members vote to terminate employment effective immediately, two recuse themselves.
Arcade brand founders unveil their latest concept with prime stage-side location and contemporary take on familiar flavors.
Bar Ni Modo at the Farm House Collective celebrated with a special friends and family event last night, giving a select group the first taste of what's to come at this exciting new venue. Ni Modo will continue its soft opening over the next couple of days before fully opening to the public this weekend.
Stephen Hasemeyer and Shane Levario present their newest concept at Riverside’s new hot spot, the Farm House Collective. Situated in a prime location closest to the stage at the venue, this high-concept yet accessible establishment offers Mexican-themed small plates and cocktails.
Don't expect frozen margaritas and crunchy tacos here. Ni Modo offers a thoughtfully crafted take on America's favorite cuisine, honoring authentic Mexican culinary traditions while presenting them through a contemporary, refined lens.
The Arcade team has built a reputation for finding exceptional locations for their ventures—whether taking over a beloved Riverside institution like Backstreet, transforming an old video store, or establishing a presence near City Hall. The Farm House Collective represents a combination of these elements, putting their stamp on one of the city's most highly publicized adaptive reuse projects.
The Arcade brand has come to mean something around town: a brand that delivers on ambitious goals and eschews pretense. They are looking to lead and innovate wherever they go, something Riversiders reward but have not always been offered.
There is a consistency among their establishments even though the products may be very different. It’s safe to say they have found an identity, and with that, a confidence that they will succeed in anything new they take on.
I asked Arcade Co-founder Stephen Hasemeyer if these opening days have gotten any easier with experience. “Yes, it has gotten way easier, but it’s because of the team we’ve developed,” says Hasemeyer. “We have a really talented team who knows what to do and how we serve people the Arcade way.”
Ni Modo is positioned to succeed both as a standalone destination at the Farm House Collective and as part of the larger experience. As more vendors open at the location, Ni Modo is ideally situated to be the final stop on a "kiosk hop" through the collective. Its proximity to the stage also makes it a perfect spot to enjoy a cocktail during concerts and performances.
More information: Reservations are recommended through the rest of the week and are available at OpenTable.com. Ni Modo is part of the Farm House Collective, located at 1393 University Ave in Riverside. The collective is open Sunday through Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m.
