Friday Gazette: November 22, 2024 I know we, as a culture, are actively pushing the beginning of the holiday season
The Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center fundraiser is about as good as it gets.
I believe well-intentioned people of good character may disagree on matters of substance. I’m even sympathetic to the fence walkers and the indifferent. I understand the impulse to just “stay out of it.” These are divided times, and people are punished for their opinions.
There ARE still absolutes; when they might be derived, we should stand boldly in their defense. I can say with a high degree of certainty that the Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center is doing the Lord’s work in providing a no-kill shelter for the less fortunate pups and kitties, and we can support what they do with boldness. They aim to find homes for 2000 pets in 2024 and are well on their way.
It can be difficult to advocate for what is right, but not this time. Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center is having a beer party!
Dog lovers and craft beer enthusiasts can enjoy an afternoon together while supporting a good cause at Barktoberfest, hosted by the Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center. The event will take place on Saturday, October 12th, from 12 pm to 4 pm at White Park in Riverside.
Molly Shannon, Marketing Director with Mary S. Roberts, talked a little about how important Barktoberfest is to their organization: “In addition to Barktoberfest being a fun day for you and your dog, it is also a fundraising event, designed to bring beer lovers and animal lovers together while supporting the work of Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center. Proceeds from this important fundraiser provide second chances to homeless pets and allow the Pet Adoption Center to offer resources to the pets and people of Riverside and beyond. Each year at the Pet Adoption Center, thousands of dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens receive life-saving vaccines, medical care, spay and neuter surgeries, shelter, food, and, most importantly, a second chance. By attending Barktoberfest, you impact the homeless pets in your community.”
Attendees can enjoy tastings from local craft breweries, food vendors, live music, and fun activities. VIP tickets are available for purchase, granting early entry at noon. Branded swag and a dedicated seating area. General admission begins at 1 p.m. Designated driver tickets will also be available. Tickets can be purchased online at petsadoption.org. College students and veterans can receive a 10% discount on tickets using the codes Student10 and RedWhiteAndBrew, respectively.
