City Councilmember and Assembly District Candidate Arrested for DUI: Faces Court Appearance
Riverside Councilmember and Assembly District candidate, Clarissa Cervantez, was arrested for driving under the influence, marking her second DUI offense, and is scheduled to appear in court on August 30.
Clarissa Cervantez, Ward 2 Councilmember and a candidate in the open-seat race for Assembly District 58 was apprehended by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) at 1:23 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023, on charges of driving under the influence.
According to booking data, the arrest took place at Eighth Street Southbound on I-10. Cervantez was subsequently transported to the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning, where she was booked into custody. Bail has been set at $5,000.
This is Cervantes' second arrest for driving under the influence. On September 28, 2014, she was arrested and booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center.
Cervantez is slated to appear in court on August 30 at 7:30 a.m., where she will face charges related to her arrest.
