A collaborative effort between the California Baptist University Department of Social Work and the apparel and lifestyle brand 1LoveIE turned concern for the community into a nine-day campaign called, “Love Thy Neighbor.”
Dean Mayorga, communications specialist for 1LoveIE, said when they became aware that the amount of people in their community experiencing depression and anxiety disorders increased during the pandemic, leaders at the company wanted to find a way to provide service and promote self care.
The company reached out to the CBU Department of Social Work and established a partnership so that anyone interested in services can connect with the CBU office via online appointment form posted on the 1LoveIE website.
“Historically, we’ve never let clothing limit us,” Mayorga said. “Our mission is to help our community. We don’t only make clothes that communicate self-pride, we want to create a space that’s a better place to live for everybody here.”
Appointment slots for the 15–30 minute, online sessions opened on February 10th and will close after the 18th.
