Neighbor of the Week: Michael J. Elderman
Each week, we will introduce a new neighbor. This is not a who's who list. These are regular Riversiders doing exceptional things.
Riverside-based theatre troupe starts its summer season with a free, family-friendly rendition of Shakespeare’s classic, promising accessibility and community engagement.
Riverside-based theatre troupe Full Circle Players starts their summer season at the California Citrus State Historic Park on Thursday, July 11, with their rendition of William Shakespeare’s The Tempest. The Full Circle Players have been offering locally cast and produced classic theatre for five years and are on a mission to bring these timeless works to the public.
“Theatre and Shakespeare are for everyone!” says Wendi Johnson, Director and Artistic Director of Full Circle Players “We never want the price of a ticket to keep a community member from seeing great theatre, so we bring the theatre into the communities for equity in access. This is an accessible, family-friendly version of The Tempest using Shakespeare’s language. The cast is a diverse and brilliantly talented group of artists excited to tell this story of the power of forgiveness over revenge.”
This is the first of many showings by the Full Circle Players over the next month. Check out the flyer below for additional showings. The event is free with paid parking. Bring a blanket and a picnic and enjoy a unique experience in an incredible setting.
