The Fifty & Better Health Fair, hosted by the Janet Goeske Foundation, is a free event designed to support the health and wellness of Riverside’s older adult community. Attendees can access vaccine clinics to stay up-to-date on immunizations and medication disposal services to safely discard expired or unused prescriptions. Health screenings will be available for those looking to assess their well-being, ensuring visitors can monitor vital health markers like blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
The event goes beyond medical services with its Wellness Spa, offering a chance for relaxation and rejuvenation. It also offers fitness activities tailored to older adults to encourage physical activity in a fun and engaging manner. Food samples will be provided, highlighting healthy choices that support a balanced diet. The Janet Goeske Center is a home away from home for many in our community. Aside from the physical needs that are served at the center, The Goeske provides a place where people can meet, talk, and eat together. Many of our senior citizens lack regular social engagement, which can be as vital as many of the needs we consider more critical.
