Springtime evenings in Riverside are unbeatable. Mix perfect weather with good food, crafty vendors, world class art and dancing in the streets and Artswalk is a can't miss event.
Man One is a world-renowned artist and a pioneer in merging fine art and graffiti. His style is in the tradition of Basquiat and invokes a sense of whimsy with his bold lines and colors. His art has been exhibited at some of the most prestigious museums in the world, including the Smithsonian. He is being featured at the Division 9 gallery on Lemon and University.
The Inlandia Institute has been putting together some really amazing content for Artswalk. This Thursday, in recognition of Asian American History Month, they have put together a presentation on Japanese internment during World War II called The Power of The Letter: Civilian Exclusion Order No. 83 and the Incarceration of Riversiders. The event is free and takes place at the Center For Social Justice and Civil Liberties, 3855 Market Street.
Are flashmobs nostalgia plays yet? Maybe, but SALT Dance Studios has organized a dance parade down Main Street through the vendor areas during Artswalk. The parade will start at 6 p.m. near City Hall. Give them a clap and a Woohooo! If you see them around.
