Neighbor of the Week: Michael J. Elderman
Each week, we will introduce a new neighbor. This is not a who's who list. These are regular Riversiders doing exceptional things.
The session will guide the public on how to apply to the available volunteer positions across Riverside's boards and commissions.
Mayor Patricia Lock Dawson will host an informational session this week to brief the public on the multiple service opportunities available through the City of Riverside.
The session, which is open to the public, will be held on Wednesday, March 23 at 6 p.m. in the Mayor’s Ceremonial Room at City Hall. It will detail various ways volunteers can serve as appointed commissioners across Riverside’s 15 boards and commissions, according to a recent press release.
Lock Dawson will be joined by Riverside City Clerk Donesia Gause. Together they will provide details on how to apply to one of the positions, in addition to how they may meet public interest and expertise.
Riverside’s boards and commissions primarily serve to advise the mayor and City Council on matters such as transportation and budgeting. The volunteer seats are filled by Riversiders from each of the city’s seven wards.
Space for the event is limited. To attend the session, Lock Dawson has asked the public to email her at 2mayor@riversideca.gov.
