Each week, we will introduce a new neighbor. This is not a who's who list. These are regular Riversiders doing exceptional things.

John Corona is a dedicated educator and coach who served the Riverside Unified School District (RUSD) for 40 years. Throughout his career, he taught U.S. History and coached track and field, basketball, and freshman football at Arlington and Martin Luther King (MLK) High Schools. Beyond his classroom and field work, Corona helped establish the "King High School Remembers" project, a nationally recognized veterans' oral history initiative that has connected students with veterans for 25 years.

Corona also revitalized the Riverside City Track Championships, now known as the Raincross Tradition, and was instrumental in creating the Riverside City Cross Country Course. His deep commitment to Riverside's cultural and athletic history is evident through his involvement with the Riverside Sports Hall of Fame, Arlington and MLK High Schools' Hall of Fame committees, and the Riverside Historical Society. John continues to be an active and respected figure in the Riverside community.
