Each week, we will introduce a new "neighbor". This is not a who's who list. These are Regular Riversiders doing exceptional things.
Sharein Soliman works at Inland Empire Harm Reduction, a local agency that provides addicts with basic needs and overdose reversal kits. Nominator, Edif Greenmorrow describes Sharein as “a community service navigator and fights for civil rights. She advocates for our unhoused community and is well known and loved among them across the city of Riverside. She often drives people to needed resources such as medical care. She helps advocate for our unhoused community challenging stigma and helping ensure access to life saving resources.”
What is your Mt. Rubidoux summit count? I'd say close to 20.
What is your favorite restaurant in town? Mama Mia off Magnolia has great Italian food.
What is the most beautiful building in Riverside? Tio's Tacos. beautiful art and it was all made using recycled items and things that would usually just be thrown away.
What is your favorite Riverside small business? I love Urge Pallet! Its an art store downtown the staff is great and super helpful. They are really involved in the community and have art classes. Also Escape the Arcade has the sweetest staff and is a super fun escape room.
What is your favorite Riverside non-profit organization? Rainbow Pride Youth Alliance does great work with youth in the IE. They have summer camps and weekly youth group events- their staff is the cutest, too. Foster Army Animal Rescue is great as well. They help get pets adopted and have a thrift store that supports their efforts.
What is your go-to sandwich in town? US Donuts has delicious sandwiches, and they donate to community organizations!
What is your idea of a perfect weekend day in Riverside? Coffee at Twee off Magnolia, then estate sales, and my favorite thrift stores!
What is your favorite spot for a date night? Probably picking up drinks from King Market off Indiana, then heading to the Van Buren Drive-In.
Do you call it the Galleria or Tyler Mall? Tyler Mall – always.
What is one place in Riverside you would bring back if you could Spankys Cafe, because we always need more spaces with all-ages live music.
If you could put one message on a billboard on the 91, what would it be? If you see someone living outside, either bring them food and water or mind your own business.
