December is a wild month. We did a little leg work for you so you can carve out a bit of time from juggling holiday duties and take some time to find the holiday spirit.
The Fox Performing Arts Center has a busy Holiday entertainment schedule in December. From "Merry-Achi" to Christmas with the Beatles, you will surely find something to brighten your Yule Tide.

Mike Ness founded Social Distortion in Fullerton, California, over 45 years ago. The band has endured the toughest of times and a few streaks of super success, becoming one of the most influential bands in the Southern California Punk scene. For 77 years, La Sierra University has put on a traditional choir and orchestra Christmas Concert on the west side of town. It is a holiday showcase of the school's incredible Performing Arts programs. The event is free and open to the public; upgraded seating is available for a fee.

There are eight college-level basketball programs in Riverside, between men's and women's teams. These games are of great value and an incredible way to spend some time with the family when school is out. Get out to the game, have some nachos and a soda, and root for the home team! Wear a Santa hat if you feel the need to make it festive.
In what has become one of the biggest holiday events in the country, the Mission Inn's Festival of Lights continues through the month of December. Visit the Holiday Craft Fair, go ice skating, listen to the music on the Main Street Mall, and, of course, dive into all the holiday sweets and treats.
The Mission Inn Foundation is offering a new series of tours. Take a stroll downtown with a highly trained docent and learn something new about the city you love. Check out their new retail store and museum on Market between University and Mission Inn for riverside-themed merchandise and tour inquiries. If you would like to become a docent, you can inquire on their website about the docent training program.
Chabad Riverside hosts one of the premier Chanukah events in Southern California at the Historic Riverside Courthouse. This event is open to everyone and includes live music, traditional foods (JELLY DONUTS!), a giant Menorah, and a welcoming and festive environment. Come out on December 30th from 6-8 p.m. and celebrate.
