The library encourages picking up your copy soon in preparation of March and April events.
The otherwise empty space will showcase local student talent in rotating student curated exhibitions.
The Riverside Arts Magnet at Ramona High School has launched a new partnership with the Riverside Municipal Airport to showcase student artwork. A rotating gallery space located adjacent to the main terminal will feature selections from the school's students.
The inaugural exhibit features artwork from the fall season's Ram-O-Rama student exhibit at Ramona. New exhibits will rotate quarterly, showcasing a diverse range of student creations throughout the year.
Future exhibits will be curated from student submissions by a dedicated committee. This committee will not only select the artwork but also manage the collection, preparation, and installation of each show. This hands-on experience will provide valuable insight into the art world for the magnet students, enhancing their understanding of gallery and museum operations and the ways in which art is presented and appreciated.
"The curation of each show, we hope, will enhance our magnet students' understanding of the art world, such as the roles galleries and museums play, as well as how people view and enjoy art," said Sean Banister, Studio Art & Art Design Teacher at Ramona High School.
This collaboration provides a unique platform for Ramona's art students to share their work with the community and fills an otherwise empty space with art. The space's proximity to the popular Airport Café assures it will be well-trafficked.
These simple collaborations bridge the needs of local art institutions for gallery space and the needs of keepers of public spaces to provide aesthetically interesting environments. The Riverside Municipal Airport Terminal is at 6951 Flight Road. You can keep up with what the incredible students of the Riverside Arts Magnet are doing on their Instagram page.
