Riverside Community Players concludes 99th Season with award-winning musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

Riverside Community Players (RCP)will cap off its remarkable 99th continuous season with the musical comedy, "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee." This much-anticipated production, directed by the talented Mia Mercado, will run from June 21 to July 7, 2024, marking the return of musicals to the RCP roster after a long hiatus. Thanks to a newly installed state-of-the-art lighting and sound system, audiences can look forward to an enhanced theatrical experience that perfectly complements the lively spirit of this TONY award-winning show.

"The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee," penned by William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin, depicts six quirky adolescents, portrayed by adults, competing in a spelling bee at Putnam County Middle School. Each character's unique backstory and reason for vying for the championship unfolds through a series of catchy, touching, and often hilarious songs.
