New facility aims to combat hunger in Riverside and San Bernardino counties
Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino is expanding its operations to better serve the community’s growing hunger needs. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the new FARSB Hunger Resource Center in Riverside on Thursday, June 6.
The new center is part of Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino’s mission to combat hunger by providing food access, emergency relief, education, and advocacy to families in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. The organization’s 2023 Guide Star Platinum Seal of Transparency reflects the highest level of transparency achievable.
The new facility is located at 4035 Trail Creek Rd., Riverside, CA 92505. It includes office space for the administrative team, a small delivery warehouse, a learning center, and a community center with a grocery store-like option, The Fresh Start Pantry by Goodman, opening later this year. The organization’s warehouses will continue to operate at 2950-B Jefferson St., Riverside, CA 92504.
Carolyn Fajardo, CEO at FARSB, said, “Hunger is often called an ‘invisible crisis,’ yet it remains a critical issue nationwide, driven by complex social, economic, and geographical factors. Our new facility will be a cornerstone for efficient operations and a welcoming haven for those seeking help. This expansion will enable us to offer essential programs directly from our facility, significantly enhancing our presence and impact within the community.”
