City Council does not meet this week.
The Community Police Review Commission meets on Wednesday, January 22, at 5:30 p.m. (agenda) to review the Racial Identity Profiling Act 2024 Report, which shows fewer overall police stops in Riverside compared to 2023 but continues to highlight demographic disparities with Black residents and males being stopped at rates higher than their share of the population would suggest.
The Human Relations Commission meets on Thursday, January 23, at 6:00 p.m. (agenda) and will hear a presentation on the rise in human trafficking cases in Riverside County, where arrests increased from 108 in 2022 to 228 in 2024, with one-third of victims being juveniles and actionable steps residents can take to help combat the reach of this growing global crisis here in Riverside.
