The Land Use, Sustainability, and Resilience Committee meets on Monday, January 8, at 3:30 p.m. (agenda) for a presentation on estimated costs ($75 million) for the City to directly provide all city-wide trash collection services instead of using external contractors for commercial collection and 1/3 of residential collection, and another on the use of Roundup for weed abatement which was temporarily suspended by the City Manager's office in 2019 "in response to public concern."
The Board of Library Trustees meets on Monday, January 8, at 5:00 p.m. (agenda) for a "Libray 101" presentation on the vision and operation of the city's libraries by Library Director Erin Christmas.
The Board of Public Utilities meets on Monday, January 8, at 6:30 p.m. (agenda) to review the results of two financial audits.
The Mayor's Nominating and Screening Committee, which includes councilmembers Cervantes, Conder, and Perry, meets on Tuesday, January 9, at 11:00 a.m. (agenda) to select applicants to be interviewed by the Mayor and City Council for openings on the Community Police Review Commission, Board of Ethics, and Board of Public Utilities.
City Council will meet in open session on Tuesday, January 9, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. (agenda) for a workshop reviewing the City's 2024 work plan.
The Financial Performance and Budget Committee meets on Wednesday, January 10, at 3:00 p.m. (agenda) to hear an appeal from the Marriott Riverside at the Convention Center over a $10,000 hotel tax dispute and review external audits for the 2022-23 financial year.
