After blazing a new trail permitting the retail sale of cannabis last week, this week Council will focus on one of Riverside’s oldest trails. If it receives just 5 affirmative votes, $1,470,470 will be awarded to Onyx Paving Company for repaving of the Mt. Rubidoux trail. The proposed project includes maintenance and repair work to the asphalt trail as well as modifications to improve accessibility for fire vehicles during 4th of July fireworks events.

If approved, dollars for this project will be transferred from the City’s Measure Z fund to cover the project costs.
City Council does not meet this week. Riverside's city boards and commissions will discuss a proposal to shift crossing guard program costs to school districts and the strategy to transform the newly named Arlington Village stretch of Magnolia Ave. in Ward 5.
