City Council will meet in closed and open sessions on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. (agenda), there will be no evening session.
In the 1:00 p.m. session, Council will consider a batch of street improvements, including resurfacing Hoover and Orchard Street in Ward 3 and Philbin Avenue in Ward 6, repairing damaged concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks, driveways, and pedestrian ramps, as well as constructing new concrete sidewalks in Ward 7 on Lessie Lane, Penny Drive, and Jo Jo Way, with a recommended construction contract award to Hardy & Harper, Inc. for $2,870,000.
In the 3:00 p.m. session, Council will receive a presentation of the Arlington Business Partnership's Annual Report. The ABP is primarily funded by a special tax assessment on businesses in its district and works to boost the success and well-being of the business community in the Arlington area. This year's report advocates for expanded beautification efforts to bring trash clean-up, pressure washing, and graffiti removal to the area.
The Inclusiveness, Community Engagement, and Governmental Processes Committee meets Wednesday, October 4, at 3:30 p.m. (agenda) and will discuss proposed updates related to violation of rules and a Budget Engagement Commission membership update.
The Board of Ethics meets on Thursday, October 5, at 5:00 p.m. (agenda) to review their annual work plan draft.
